Ok, so I saw IT (2017)….
Maybe I’m the only one in the world that’s like meh…but meh.
Don’t get me wrong. The filmmaking is beautiful.I mean it should be cause it cost $$$$$ to make this movie. It has that nice eerie nostalgia feel indicative of all Stephen King flicks. I assume the filmmaker, Christopher Nolan, had a love for STAND BY ME another Stephen King Classic. ITs tone was very similar in it’s against. Unfortunately it was minus smoldering former teen heart throb (RIP) River Phoenix and ultimate 80’s bad boy Keifer Sutherland.
The kids in this movie were odd, cute & likeable.
Though, truth be told, the kid from Stranger Things, Finn Wolfhard kinda stole the show for me.
I don’t know if they just gave him all of the great funny lines or if he is just great and funny. At times I would totally forget that I was watching a movie focused on Jaeden Lieberher’s character, Bill Denbrough.
I will say this, 2017 Pennywise,
Bill Skarsgard, was awesome & way FREAKIER than his predecessor Pennywise 1990 Tim Curry. Don’t get me wrong. I love me some Tim Curry, Rocky Horror Picture Show, baby! But, 2017 Pennywise was just so missing links in his head in a good way. In a weird way. In a way that I totally liked him and totally felt dirty about it. Nonetheless he was definitely F-d and needed to be on the first bus to hell PRONTO!
I don’t know. This movie always leaves wishing for more. Wishing there was more to the storyline than undertone and internal fear. Maybe some gruesome twist of fate. Or maybe if 2017 Pennywise and Finn Wolfhard and the rest of the Stranger Things gang teamed up for a movie…Now that might be something…
